Featured Business: Christian Health Care Center Hosts 7th Annual Heroes Day

September 5, 2014

Christian Health Care CenterCommunity events are often a testament to the strong ties small businesses have with the local government entities, fellow businesses and the general public.

Hosting an event can be an effective way for a company to give back to their local community. Such is the case with Heroes Day – a wonderful event organized by Christian Health Care Center in Lynden since 2008.

Christian Health Care Center is a locally owned and operated nonprofit – they are a leading provider of skilled nursing care for senior citizens in Whatcom County. CHCC’s services range from long term care, to specialized care for patients with Alzheimer’s, to an award-winning rehabilitation program that allows patients to rest, recover and return home. They strive to bring exceptional care to elders in our community – provided with compassion and love.

In addition to offering healthcare services, CHCC also employs more than 220 people. They offer free healthcare training for job seekers and also have an award-winning volunteer program. Sounds good, right?

CHCC began what is now the annual tradition of Heroes Day in 2008. The event was established as a way to not only remember those that lost their lives on September 11, 2001, but to also honor local heroes who protect and serve our community every day.

Heroes Day, September 11, 2014

Heroes Day 2014 will be attended members of the Lynden Fire and EMT, Lynden Police, Washington State Patrol, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Red Cross, and many others. Local dignitaries will be on hand to speak and to lead a moment of silence at 10 am. Light refreshments will be provided by Sugar Shack Ice Cream Truck.

Bring the family and join Christian Health Care Center as they honor, thank and remember first responders and community helpers on September 11, 2014.
