OK, we made that last part up but it’s true that “thrifting” is the ultimate way to live out the “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” mantra. And if a small, local business can be supported while doing it, all the better, right?
Foxxy Brown’s Consignment store in Lynden, Wash. is one local consignment shop worth checking out. Owner Sheri Robertson has her store filled to the brim with an eclectic selection of stylish and affordable items for men, women and the home. She carries shoes, accessories, formal wear, housewares, home décor, kitchenware, and even small furniture pieces.
Brands like Levis, Lands End, American Eagle, Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister, Ann Taylor, Gap, Wet Seal, Liz Claiborne and Old Navy can frequently be found at Foxxy. And, thanks to hundreds of regular consignors, inventory at this Whatcom County consignment shop is always changing over – savvy shoppers never know what treasure might be found on the shelves of Foxxy Brown’s!
New location – even better selection
At the end of 2014, Foxxy Brown’s moved next door to a larger space in Fair Square Shopping Center. The new space provided extra room to carry even more of the items their customers love.
Robertson reports that the addition of housewares late last year has really taken off – people are consigning their gently used home décor items and then using the cash earned to shop at Foxxy for new décor items. She says it’s a win-win! Foxxy Brown’s Consignment 1
Another popular new feature at the business is a customer reward program that shares special discounts with frequent shoppers. The Five Stars program helps consignment shoppers save even more! Saving money, reducing waste and supporting a local small business are all great things in our book.
