Weekends in Whatcom County were made for dog lovers. Runs on the beach, fetch at the park, hitting the trails…
But, as you know, life doesn’t always work out that way. Sometimes, like it or not, you must be away from your furry friend on the weekend.
That’s where Rover Stay Over comes in. Open and fully staffed seven days a week, Rover is a lifeline for dog lovers who must be away for the weekend.
Owners Ken and Charmae Scheffer, both Whatcom County natives, opened Rover Stay Over on Hannegan Road in 2011 and since have expanded to employ approximately a dozen people. They love dogs just as much as their customers, and it’d be hard to find a friendlier place to leave your fur baby on the weekend.
Whether you’re spending extra time at the office, running errands or going away on a short vacation, Rover Stay Over is ready to help with weekend daycare and boarding. Rather than leave your pets at home or in the car, you can bring your four-legged friends to Rover for a day packed with exercise, socialization and fun – it’s like camp for dogs! With Rover on duty, dogs and dog owners alike can make the most of the lovely weekends in the Pacific Northwest.

Just check out this recent rave review, for example: “If you’re anything like me your dog is your child and leaving it is just as hard as I imagine leaving my first child will be. It’s so awesome to be on vacation and not having to worry about your dog because you’re still seeing pictures of them on their Facebook page playing outside and having fun with all the other dogs! Love, love, love, LOVE, highly recommend!”
