Lynden Chamber of Commerce recently added three new members to their board of directors.

Jerry Blankers of Muljat Group North, Calvin Den Hartog of Nooksack Valley Disposal and Dave Dodson of Edaleen Dairy joined the group as long time supporters of the Lynden business community.

“We’re thrilled these local business professionals have chosen to join our team and look forward to benefiting from their experience, expertise and ideas,” shared Bill Pate, owner of Bookkeeping Solutions NW and newly elected president of the board.

As former board members and past presidents, Den Hartog and Dodson are returning to the group after a few years away. In addition to management duties at Nooksack Valley Disposal and Edaleen Dairy respectively, they both have working knowledge of the local business community and experience with chamber hosted events.

Blankers, instrumental in establishing and growing the Curt Mayberry Memorial Classic 3 on 3 basketball tournament at the Northwest Raspberry Festival, is a life-long resident of Whatcom County with more than 30 years in real estate and development.  This will be his first term on the chamber board.

The three new members are serving alongside current board members including Duane Bode of Lynden Paint & Decorating, Windermere real estate agent Ron DeBoer, Kelly Ellis of Sole Obsession Footwear, Patti Rowlson of PR Consulting Services, Blake Starkenburg of Oldride.com and Pete Wolkin of Pioneer Ford.

“As chamber board members, we believe in organizing and promoting events, educational classes and business oriented gatherings that help create a strong, positive community.  Our goal for 2012 is to encourage our membership to participate and engage in a way that builds their business and supports the community in general.”

With more than 300 members the Lynden Chamber of Commerce is an important part of the local community.  They work in partnership with the City of Lynden to promote local businesses and coordinate regional events including the Farmer’s Day Parade, Northwest Raspberry Festival and Lynden Lighted Christmas Parade.
